Thanks, Gay!

We had a great worship service on Sunday at the Old Meeting House.  We welcomed Gay, her husband Jared and daughter Katy to the Faith Des Peres family.  Thank you, Gay, for the beautiful music!

For those of you who couldn't be there, the bulletin can be found here and the sermon can be found here.

We hope to see you this Sunday back at the Clayton Road church.

Happy Labor Day!  Annie

You Don't Want to Miss This Sunday

We'll welcome Gay Spears as our new Music Director and Organist and the music will be spectacular.  Gay is bringing her group the Unity Singers, a quartet of very talented singers, to sing for us.  In keeping with the style of the old church the music will be in the folk style.  Come on Sunday and give her a big welcome.  Invite a friend!  Worship will be at the old church at 10:30 am.  For more information about Gay click here.  See you Sunday!

Volunteers Needed!

As we gear up for the busy Fall season, we need a few good volunteers!  Sunday School teachers for the elementary and middle school classes are needed.  You can teach 1 or more classes; the curriculum is very easy to use!  See Pat (pat@milodesigns.com) if interested.

The choir is starting up!  Did you know that music can be good for your health?  Research has shown that music can bring sharper concentration and more alert thinking, or promote a calm, meditative state.  We all need that!  Contact Gay Holmes Spear, new FDP Music Director, at music@faithdesperes.org.

It's time to reorganize the Worship Teams and serving on one has never been easier!  With the addition of the Gathering Space coffee set-up and clean-up is a breeze.  And you no longer have to worry about serving as a liturgist!  All we need is your smiling face to greet people and collect the offering.  See Annie (pastor@faithdesperes.org) if interesed.

And last but not least, we need a coordinator or two for this year's CROP Walk.  This is a short-term job and you're helping to combat hunger!  The CROP Walk is October 24.  All you need is a computer and good internet skills to coordinate.  You don't even need to walk!  See Annie if interested (pastor@faithdesperes.org).

Come One, Come All

Hungry?  Have we got a deal for you.  The Presbyterian Women of FDP are sponsoring a “fun-raiser” on Tuesday, September 21 at the Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant, which features an all-you-can-eat buffet, including fresh salads, homemade soups, pasta and more!

Join us for a fun-filled evening of food and fellowship.  And, bring your friends!  The more the merrier.  The money raised at this event will benefit the guests at Lydia’s House, which provides transitional housing for abused women and their children in St. Louis.

Sweet Tomatoes is located at 9846 Watson Road in Crestwood.  For more information, see the flier in your church bulletin.  And, don't forget to bring the flier with you to the restaurant!
