Major events of our church year include:
Blessing of the Animals: In October, pets get their own service at Faith Des Peres. Faith pets and their friends from the community receive a personal blessing from Reverend Epling and are treated to songs by the Children's Choir.
DUO Lunch The annual DUO (Do Unto Others) lunch, held each November, is a special tradition in the life of Faith Des Peres. Funds raised at the 2006 event helped families associated with Southside Day Nursery and kids served by Presbyterian Children's Services. In addition, 2006 featured a craft bazaar of items fashioned by artisans in Peru associated with Joining Hands Against Hunger, a grass-roots ministry supporting poverty relief initiatives around the world.
Hanging of the Greens On the Saturday preceding the start of Advent, adults prepare the sanctuary while the Fellowship Hall is transformed into a Gingerbread House Construction Zone for kids.
Mardi Gras Brunch
Serious pancake eating occurs following worship on Mardi Gras Sunday. Special music by the Jim Dandys jazz ensemble and authentic King and Zulu cakes from Louisiana completed the festivities at our first Mardi Gras Celebration on February 6, 2005.
Holy Week Services Special services during Holy Week remind us of God's gracious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. On Easter, the congregation gathers outdoors to celebrate "Big Communion."
Trout Lodge Weekend Each spring, members and friends of Faith Des Peres gather at Trout Lodge for a retreat. Touring Sunnen Lake by pontoon boat caps off a weekend of food, fellowship and fun.
Pentecost Picnic On Pentecost, Faith Des Peres celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit through worship, special music and by enjoying a picnic on the grounds of the church
