Rev. Pat Cleeland, Parish Associate
Pat Cleeland was initially introduced to Faith Des Peres when she came to fill the pulpit while Pastor Annie was on vacation. Having just left a call as Associate Pastor at another church, she was immediately drawn to the congregation. Little did Annie know, a guest preacher would bring along her family of 5 and never leave! Pat and her family have been attending Faith Des Peres since 2004. Initially drawn here for the children’s ministry, the family has found a home beyond Sunday School.
Following her true call, Pat took over the Children’s Education ministry late in 2007. Since then, we have distributed Bibles to seven 3 - 5th graders, offered the God and Me program for our scouts in 2n d- 4th grades, confirmed two 7th graders and completed the God and Church program for our confirmation students. We also participate in an ecumenical Young Youth Group.
What she loves most about FDP is the intergenerational fellowship. Children and young adults mix and mingle with empty nesters and retirees. We never forget that the adults can learn as much from the children as the children can learn from them.
Pat and her husband Chris have been married since 1991 and have three children: Sarah, Sawyer and Maggie. All are in the SLPS magnet school program. Devoted city-dwellers, they make the trek from south St. Louis to FDP weekly. Originally from New Orleans, LA and Dallas, TX, Pat graduated from Eden Seminary in 1999.
