Lent at Faith Des Peres

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Wednesday, March 5th, 7pm
Faith Des Peres Gathering Space

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LENT FORUM
"Seeing Ourselves in Those Who Confronted Jesus"
March 12-April 9, 6:15-7:15 pm

Join us on Wednesdays in Lent for a special class taught by Annie Epling.  Discover the importance of those who were around Jesus and learn about groups from Jesus' time, including the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Zealots. We will be challenged to consider who in the twenty-first-century church is like the members of these groups. Each study comes with a Participant Handout that will be e-mailed to you in advance.  You do not need to attend all 5 classes to participate.  Sign up in the Gathering Space or e-mail Pastor Annie at pastor@faithdesperes.org.

LENT THEME: GIVING IT UP
Many of us give up certain things for the forty days of Lent, and doing so can be a very beneficial thing for us. This seven-week series takes that idea one step further, talking each week about things that God wants us to give up, not just for forty days, but forever.

March 9:  Giving Up Control
March 16: Giving Up Expectation
March 23: Giving Up Superiority
April 7: Choir Cantata (“In My Place”)
April 14: Giving Up Popularity (Palm Sunday)
April 21: Easter Sunday!
