Who we are:

We come from varied walks of life and have many and diverse interests. We span the age spectrum from infants to octogenarians. Some of us are long-time members; others only recently joined the Faith Des Peres family. Regardless of our individual circumstances, we all appreciate our church's heritage; one that dates back to the 1830s when our Old Stone Meeting House was built during the ministry of Elijah Parish Lovejoy. We are equally excited about our place in the world today - a vibrant, moderately sized congregation seeking to broaden our mission under the guidance of a young, energetic and dedicated pastor. We look forward to our future based on renewed hope, optimism, open-mindedness and inclusiveness.

What we believe:

In life and in death, we belong to God.

Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one Triune God, the Holy One of Israel, who alone we worship and serve.

With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

-from A Brief Statement of Faith, Presbyterian Church (USA), 1983

"Nothing that is worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we must be saved by love."
