Mission and Ministry is again partnering with University City School District to provide Buddy Packs – healthy meals and snacks – for 60 elementary school students every weekend during the 2018 – 2019 school year. Our first Buddy Pack packing date will be Sunday, Aug. 19, immediately following church. We’ll pack in Fellowship Hall and would love to have as many people as possible to help with this great project. After August, we will pack Buddy Packs on the second Sunday of each month (except May, when we will pack on the first Sunday that month). As the earths shares summer’s fruits with us, let us share our gifts of love and hospitality with those we meet this week.
It’s a communion Sunday which means the kids will pull the wagon and collect food for Circle of Concern during the offering time. The idea behind Feeding the Flock is that while we are spiritually fed at Christ’s table, we are called to physically feed others. This is an important outreach ministry of Faith Des Peres, and is one that gets everyone involved. Even if you forgot food today, you can always donate food to Circle of Concern by dropping it off at the church. Thank you

Mark your calendars for our fourth Church in the Park worship service! Church will be at Scout Shelter in Kirkwood Park. There is ample parking near to the pavilion and space for the kids to run around. We’ll bless the backpacks of all our students and afterwards enjoy a BBQ lunch. The church provides burgers, dogs, drinks and paper products. It’s potluck for the sides, salad and deserts. It will be lots of fun, so we hope to see you there. Wear your t-shirts!
