Note from Pastor Marilyn

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,

My sermon message this Father’s Day Sunday will be “Saying Yes to God” from Isaiah 6:1-8.  This is the story of Isaiah’s vision of being in God’s heavenly throne room and receiving his call to serve as the Almighty One’s prophet.

I hope you are getting excited about our church serving as a host site for this year’s Make Music St. Louis next Friday, June 21.  This is a come and go event for both musicians and attendees from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.  We hope to have more information about performers and times on the church website soon.

Sunday, June 23 is the deadline to bring items for our new Military Deployment Drive that we kicked off Memorial weekend Sunday.  Please leave items in the box in the Gathering Space.  June 23 we will also welcome Rev. Rick Miller back while I am on vacation.

Looking ahead to Sunday, June 30 my sermon message will be “Caring for All Our Family” from Luke 9:51-62.  Pending Session approval June 20 we also expect to celebrate two baptisms during worship on June 30.

And looking way further ahead, our annual Congregation meeting will follow worship Sunday, July 14.  Please have your annual reports in to the church office by Monday, June 24.

I look forward to seeing you in and around our church as we share in mission and ministry together!

 Shalom in Christ Jesus,

 Pastor Marilyn

A Note from Pastor Marilyn

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,

The second “event” of our “Seeking God’s New Thing” transition journey in preparation to search for you next pastor will be our “Summit on the Present” reviewing our current mission and ministry, resources, and opportunities after worship this Sunday in the Gathering Space.  Lunch will be provided.  During the summit there will be a brief congregational vitality survey.  If you are unable to attend the summit but would like to participate in the survey, please let the church office know and one will be sent to you.  The summit will last no more than two hours and even if you are unable to stay the entire time, please come and participate as long as you can.

My sermon message this Sunday will be “Seeking God’s New Thing” from Isaiah 43:18-21 and Galatians 3:23-29.  This Sunday is also communion Sunday, so please bring your gifts for Circle of Concern.  And this Sunday we will be dedicating our 2019-2020 financial pledges in support of our mission and ministry for the coming fiscal year.  If you are unable to be present, please mail in or drop off your pledge cards as soon as possible to help us in finalizing our 2019-2020 budget.

Looking ahead, please plan to wear red for our Pentecost celebration Sunday, June 9.

Looking even further ahead, our church will be a host site for this year’s Make Music St. Louis on Friday, June 21.  This is a come and go event for both musicians and attendees from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Please watch the weekly blog and emails for more information as it becomes available.
