A Note from Pastor Marilyn

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,

I’m looking forward to attending some of the performances in our church this Friday, June 21 for the free celebration of music around the world as we host Make Music Day St. Louis.  This is a come and go event for both musicians and attendees from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.  See our church website for the schedule of performances.

This Sunday, June 23 we will welcome Rev. Rick Miller back while I am on vacation June 22-28.

Sunday, June 23 is also the deadline to bring items for our new Military Deployment Drive that we kicked off Memorial weekend Sunday.  Please leave items in the box in the Gathering Space.

Looking ahead to Sunday, June 30 my sermon message will be “Caring for All Our Family” from Luke 9:51-62.  Pending Session approval June 20 we also expect to celebrate two baptisms during worship on June 30.

And looking way further ahead, our annual Congregation meeting will follow worship Sunday, July 14.  Please have your annual reports in to the church office by Monday, June 24.

I look forward to seeing you in and around our church as we share in mission and ministry together!

 Shalom in Christ Jesus,

 Pastor Marilyn

Frontenac Aldermen Approve Townhome Project

At its meeting on June 18 the Frontenac Board of Aldermen gave final approval to the final subdivision plat for the townhomes that Payne Homes plans to build on the site of the current trailer park and the 1.6 acres of the church's property that has been under contract with the developer for almost two years. This is great news for Faith Des Peres! With the proceeds from the sale we will be able to pay off the balance of the loan remaining on the Gathering Space and will get new parking facilities in the front and the back of the church. Later this summer, the Session will begin consideration of how the balance of the proceeds from the sale will be handled and we will keep you informed of these discussions. We expect that the closing on the sale of the property will occur in July and after that we should have at least a preliminary schedule for the work on our parking lot. A big thanks to all of you for your interest and support in this endeavor. This is, indeed, an exciting time for Faith Des Peres.
