Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,
A big welcome back and thank you to Yolanda Mortimer, who is filling in for Administrative Assistant Tiara Payne while she recovers from knee surgery. For the next two weeks Yolanda will be in the office Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This Sunday there will be lots of activities for you and your family before, during and after worship! The last PALS gathering of the school year will be at 9:30 a.m. with a special guest from the Marion Medical Mission. She will have an information table in the Gathering Space and be available for conversation during our fellowship time following worship as well. The last Disciples Gathering of the school year will follow the young people’s message during worship. And we will hear presentations from two of our Centers as part of this year’s financial stewardship pledge campaign during worship as well.
My sermon message this Sunday will be “Touching Lives” from the Acts of the Apostles 9:1-20. This is the story of Saul’s conversion on the road to Damascus in preparation to serve Christ’s mission as the more prolific first century church planter.
As part of sharing Holy Communion together we will also collect food for the Circle of Concern Pantry.
Looking ahead to Mother’s Day we will again have lunch following worship and there will be a photographer available to take family photos.
Looking even further ahead, on Sunday, May 19 we will recognize this year’s graduates and will present Bibles to our fourth graders.
And Memorial weekend we plan to have our first monthly summer worship at the old Des Peres church.
I look forward to seeing you in and around our church as we share in mission and ministry together!
Shalom in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Marilyn
