What a difference we can make! For the 2nd year we are teaming up with the University City School District to collect school supplies for the upcoming school year. Supplies we collect will be used throughout the school year for students in need who are new to the district and for students from homeless families.
We invite you join us in this effort to help a neighboring school district fill an important need. Please see the list of suggested supplies and bring items to the church by Sunday, Aug. 4. We will deliver supplies to the district the following week, when we deliver our first Buddy Packs! Look for the collection box in the Gathering Space beginning Sunday, July 14.

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,
I am looking forward to our first worship service of the summer at the Old Meeting House! I have finally gotten to see inside it and appreciate its historic presence and ongoing meaningfulness to our church family.
My sermon message this Sunday will be “Seeing God’s Harvest” from Luke 10:1-11. This is the story of Jesus sending the disciples out two-by-two to spread the Gospel/Good News about Jesus in nearby communities. Worship will also include celebrating Holy Communion.
A reminder that Session has called our annual Congregation meeting to follow worship on Sunday, July 14. Agenda items include receiving the Nominating Committee report and electing Ruling Elders to Session and members to the 2019-2020 Nominating Committee, receiving various Center reports and the 2019-2020 budget approved by Session, and hearing an update on the property sale to Payne Family Homes.
I look forward to seeing you in and around our church as we share in mission and ministry together!
Shalom in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Marilyn

At its meeting on June 18 the Frontenac Board of Aldermen gave final approval to the final subdivision plat for the townhomes that Payne Homes plans to build on the site of the current trailer park and the 1.6 acres of the church's property that has been under contract with the developer for almost two years. This is great news for Faith Des Peres! With the proceeds from the sale we will be able to pay off the balance of the loan remaining on the Gathering Space and will get new parking facilities in the front and the back of the church. Later this summer, the Session will begin consideration of how the balance of the proceeds from the sale will be handled and we will keep you informed of these discussions. We expect that the closing on the sale of the property will occur in July and after that we should have at least a preliminary schedule for the work on our parking lot. A big thanks to all of you for your interest and support in this endeavor. This is, indeed, an exciting time for Faith Des Peres.
What is Make Music Day ? It is a worldwide event, happening in more than 120 countries. Every year, the event involves musicians in local happenings. This year, Faith Des Peres will participate. The event happens on the summer solstice, June 21st. Locally, we call the event MAKE MUSIC SAINT LOUIS - you can find more details at makemusicstl.org Also on that website, you or friends may register as participants if you wish to make music. Please think broadly about "making music", because any related art form is welcome to participate. For example, poetry recitation (why not?) This year, June 21st is a Friday. Our facility will be available between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. If you have acquaintances who may be interested, please let them know. For more information, please see our Music Director - Rene Zajner, or via email (rene.zajner@gmail.com)
