2019 Mission and Ministry School Supply Drive

What a difference we can make! For the 2nd year we are teaming up with the University City School District to collect school supplies for the upcoming school year. Supplies we collect will be used throughout the school year for students in need who are new to the district and for students from homeless families.

We invite you join us in this effort to help a neighboring school district fill an important need. Please see the list of suggested supplies and bring items to the church by Sunday, Aug. 4. We will deliver supplies to the district the following week, when we deliver our first Buddy Packs! Look for the collection box in the Gathering Space.

A Note from Pastor Marilyn

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,

Because we were at the Old Meeting House last Sunday we are collecting dry food items and personal care items during the offering this Sunday.

My sermon message this Sunday will be “Living Eternal Life Already” from Luke 10:25-37. This story is commonly referred to as the “Parable of the Good Samaritan.”

A reminder that Session has called our annual Congregation meeting following worship this Sunday. Annual Report booklets are now available in the narthex and the Gathering Space Agenda items include receiving the Nominating Committee report and electing Ruling Elders to Session and members to the 2019-2020 Nominating Committee, receiving various Center reports and the 2019-2020 budget approved by Session, and hearing an update on the property sale to Payne Family Homes.

I look forward to seeing you in and around our church as we share in mission and ministry together!

Shalom in Christ Jesus,

Pastor Marilyn

Dear Faith Des Peres Church Family,

I am looking forward to our first worship service of the summer at the Old Meeting House!  I have finally gotten to see inside it and appreciate its historic presence and ongoing meaningfulness to our church family.

My sermon message this Sunday will be “Seeing God’s Harvest” from Luke 10:1-11.  This is the story of Jesus sending the disciples out two-by-two to spread the Gospel/Good News about Jesus in nearby communities.  Worship will also include celebrating Holy Communion.

A reminder that Session has called our annual Congregation meeting to follow worship on Sunday, July 14.  Agenda items include receiving the Nominating Committee report and electing Ruling Elders to Session and members to the 2019-2020 Nominating Committee, receiving various Center reports and the 2019-2020 budget approved by Session, and hearing an update on the property sale to Payne Family Homes.

 Shalom in Christ Jesus,

Pastor Marilyn
